Emotions, words, thoughts take on a garment and a body, they impose themselves decisively in the expressive force of reds, greens and blues. Spatialism can be glimpsed in his works, the dynamic abstractionism of the last century, but with a truly surprising and captivating gestural freedom.

Maurizio Piovan

Maurizio Piovan is a contemporary Venetian artist, born in 1953.
His painting matured in the 70s, a historical period of great ferment and epochal changes.
His painting is energy, influenced by the current of abstract expressionism in which language is expressed through multi-material works, whose aesthetic value lies essentially in color.
The surprise is precisely the quality of the gesture, the quantity and variety of the chromatic harmonies, a rare innate wisdom, round and matured in the assiduous exercise. A cultivated pictorial ability that best interprets Kandinsky, Burri, Afro, Rotchko, Alechinsky, Vedova, Dova.
He has received numerous awards and prizes and has exhibited at prestigious galleries in Italy and abroad.
