Paolo Troilo 's pictorial palette is bi-chromatic, based on the use of two colors, alternating between them: ivory and payne gray.
This is a rigorous choice that eliminates mid-tones allowing him the possibility to give strength and vigor to his self-portraits.
Troilo dips his fingertips directly into jars of acrylic, black and ivory and spreads the color, definitively abandoning the "tools of art".
