In his canvases the real protagonist is color. The brushstrokes are decisive, spontaneous and aggressive like the themes he deals with, hard and gory: consumerism, marginalization, loneliness. He represents them through the subjects most dear to him, such as crowds, metropolises full of lights and posters and the woman, a true icon of beauty and sensuality.

Antonio Tamburro

The Italian painter Antonio Tamburro was born in Isernia in 1948. After the art school he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, with the master Giovanni Brancaccio, later in Rome, with the master Franco Gentilini. Tamburro, during his long career in contemporary art, can be considered a rebellious artist intolerant of traditional and strictly academic teachings. His spirit leads him to a painting of denunciation towards a consumerist society through moods that are sometimes melancholy, sometimes rich in irony. But color is the winning weapon of his artistic expression

The artist says: "The beginning of my pictorial career was very hard, I had no economic possibilities and I could not buy enough colors, so much so that I was forced to make them myself using the earth mixed with the oil used for the frying. Clearly it was not the best for a painter, considering that the paintings took months to dry ".
Today he is unquestionably considered by the public and contemporary art critic as one of the greatest masters of color. Infinito is the list of personal events that he carried out during his life both in Italy and abroad. Finally Rome, his adopted city, consecrates him among the great contemporaries with an anthology at Palazzo Venezia and a book published by Mondadori.
