Luca Ghilardi aka Nico van Lucas is an informal artist born in Milan. Informal artist to all intents and purposes. His passion for light, the explosion of colors lead him to create large-scale works that attract, strike and suck.

Nico Van Lucas' Art is full of unhesitating energy, the result of a carefully researched technique acquired over years of creative experimentation.

Color is the real protagonist, which the artist digs deeply to bring out its transparency and luminosity. The pictorial traits are surprisingly instinctive and gestural in which a great desire for freedom can be glimpsed.

His works come to life following the brilliant spirit of George Mathieu (1921 – 2012), one of the leading exponents of American abstract expressionism.
