Claudio Brunello
Claudio Brunello was born in 1954 in Veneto but grew up in Turin where he began and completed his cultural training with his teacher Claudio Rotta Loria, an established Piedmontese artist.
In 1972 he graduated window dresser, with full marks, his scenography teacher is Claudio Rotta Loria, an established Piedmontese artist. In 1973 he won the "Cairoli" Contemporary art competition, was repeatedly reported in various Art Awards, was invited to participate in the creation of a large canvas "Young for the Young", performed live in the city of Chieri ( TO). At the beginning, the art of Claudio Brunello manifests itself, with strong formal rigor, in the field of programmed art or Optical Art, he is esteemed by the art critic Aldo Passoni, at the time Director of the Gallery of Modern Art in Turin which included him in the important collective exhibition "Piemonte Segno '74" at the Giorgi art gallery in Florence. In 1974 he moved to Bassano del Grappa where he still resides and creates with his brother Giuseppe the "Shindy" nightclub, one of the historic places in Bassano today. In 1977 he married Daniela Scotton and in 1978 he created "Radio Bassano 104", one of the very first free radios in the area. In 1983, with his wife and brother Giuseppe he created the famous "Ottocento" restaurant. In 1988 he was founding member and president of the Cultural Association "ACAV '88" and the following year until 1990 he was part of the artistic commission of the "Chiesetta dell'Angelo" Bassano exhibition space.
In 1999, again in Bassano del Grappa, he created and directed a space called "PAGINAPIEGATA art gallery" dedicated exclusively to contemporary art and culture within the well-known "Ottocento" venue. He takes care of the programming until closing in July 2007 (organizing over 40 exhibitions of local artists and 100 contemporary art projections).
Since 2007 he has dedicated himself to art full time, as a curator, promoter and of course an artist. In 2010, 2011 and 2014 he held workshops on the Dada movement and Arte Povera. He exhibited in Italy and abroad, his works are present in numerous furniture design shops and in private and public collections
At the beginning, the art of Claudio Brunello manifests itself in the context of Optical Art. Multifaceted artist dedicates himself to contemporary art full time, as curator, promoter and of course artist holding workshops on the Dada movement and Arte Povera , involving: artists, photographers, writers, musicians and art critics. His artistic evolution is expressed by merging two great interests, contemporary art with design.
The objects produced are delicate, simple, light. The research is directed towards materials such as wood, plexiglass, metal and the use of LED light which together convey the sense of beauty and refined elegance. Claudio Brunello has exhibited in Italy and abroad. His works are present in numerous furniture and design shops and in private and public collections.
